Blog posts over the summer

I have received many questions recently regarding the blog and specifically about why there has been a significant reduction in updates provided over the past few weeks. I want you all to know that I have decided to stop posting to the blog over the summer months. Given recent changes in university leadership, and given the work the acting-provost, interim president and I are doing over the summer to meet with our senior leaders to determine next steps and actions, it is time to step back a bit from this blog. I will look forward to engaging with the campus community in the fall.

  1. Can you elaborate on points 7 and 8. Both points seem very ambiguous.
    7. Focus on the creation of inter-‐disciplinary and cross-‐college academic programming. Capture opportunities to make better use of faculty resources and to establish collaborations among academic units.
    8. Align our administrative services culture to support and facilitate our academic mission. Principles and values for the design and delivery of administrative services.

  2. A new semester has begun and still no updates on this blog. Very disappointing. Given that the former president delegated updates to the former provost and yourself, I assume that you know enough now to say whether the TransformUS process will continue, end, or be amended. It’s time to re-engage with your campus community. The wall of silence is not an improvement on past practices.

  3. So much for keeping the lines of comment and communication open. Can people still email with comments/questions? Should they direct those to your email address or elsewhere?

I hope that someone will at least be maintaining the blog over the summer months, to weed out the spamming.
