I have been listening in on a webinar series on improving the search and findability of content in your SharePoint site. The series is free and consists of 4 (now recorded) sessions that is each 1:30 in length.
Generally the series has provided good information and good ideas on how to plan for using SharePoint in an effective way.
From the web site introducing the series:
This series focuses on how to increase the value of SharePoint 2010 to end users by improving the effectiveness of search. Each session looks at a key issue and provides practical guidance to anyone involved in a SharePoint 2010 deployment, portal or search optimization projects.
