Street Robberies

The following is a news release sent out by the Saskatoon Police Service April 27, 2010.


The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating a number of street robberies which have occurred on the City’s east side since January.
Approximately 40 robberies have occurred this year in the area encompassed by College Drive, Ruth Street, Broadway Avenue, and Cumberland Avenue. The majority have taken place after midnight with the suspects involved, on foot. Only one victim has reported being injured. Most recently the suspects have approached victims with large, sharp edged weapons and demanded property.
The two male suspects are described as wearing black clothing and masks.
Residents are reminded to keep safety in mind and stay in well lit areas, travel in pairs or groups when possible and beware of any suspicious activity.
