Varsity View Robberies

The following is a news release sent out by the Saskatoon Police Service

“Subject: Public Safety Advisory – Street Robberies The Saskatoon Police Service is reminding residents of the need to keep safety in mind following three street robberies recently in the Varsity View area. The first incident occurred on March 3rd just before 3:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Cumberland Avenue South. A male was punched and robbed of several items, including his vehicle. The other two incidents occurred on March 7th. An attempted robbery took place in the 1200 block of Temperance Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. The complainant fled the scene safely. Then another male was robbed of his wallet at 12th Street and Ewart Avenue at approximately 11:00 p.m. that night. All three incidents involved two male suspects. In the second incident the suspects were reported to have some type of weapon. Residents are reminded to walk in pairs if possible, stay in well lit areas, be aware of suspicious activity, and report incidents to Police immediately. Anyone with information on the street robberies is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.”
