Proposed Oilsands Mine Gets Support From Fort McMurray Métis, Four Other Indigenous Groups

Last week, the Fort McMurray Métis signed an agreement with Teck Resources which promises jobs, contracts and environmentally sensitive development associated with the proposed Frontier project. The Fort McKay Métis, the Fort McKay First Nation and the Fort Chipewayan Métis have also signed similar agreements. The proposed $20.6 billion mine, if approved would create 7,000 construction jobs and 2,500 operating jobs.
