Wildcat River Family Keeps Mi’kmaq Canoe Traditions Alive

Todd Labrador recalls how his great-grandfather Joe Jermey passed on his canoe building skills at Wildcat, Acadia First Nation, NS. One of his other skills was deflecting authorities who visited from time to time attempting to place his grandchildren in residential schools thereby allowing his canoe skills to be passed on.
