Saskatoon Catholic School Division Cuts Aboriginal Student Retention Workers

Twelve people employed by the Saskatoon Catholic School Division as aboriginal student retention workers received layoff notices earlier this week. The cuts are a reaction to the $9.7 million shortfall in provincial funding. In Saskatchewan schools the aboriginal graduation rate is 40.1% versus 84.3% for the overall student population.
