Less Travel Time For Northwest Angle 33 First Nation Students

Kiizhik School — an Anishinaabe immersion school in Kenora, Ontario — is setting up a satellite campus at Northwest Angle 33 First Nation, a small community on Lake of the Woods that hasn’t had a school of its own for about 20 years. Students used to start out at 5 a.m. to travel across the border to school in Warroad, Minnesota and would not be back until 7 p.m., spending more time travelling than learning.
