Manitoba Chiefs Concerned About RCMP Policies

Several northern Manitoba chiefs are voicing concern over reports of Aboriginals being detained in chains in hockey arena dressings rooms rather than Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) holding cells. The chiefs say that this is occurring because the RCMP have refused to let band members use the local RCMP detention facility because of liability concerns. The chiefs say safety should trump liability.
