Professor John Pomeroy (BSc’83, PhD’88), a hydrology professor at the University of Saskatchewan and Canada Research Chair in Water Resources and Climate Change, was in great demand by the media during the Alberta floods of 2013. He also hosted a houseful of stranded travellers at his home in Canmore during the flooding.
Longtime University of Saskatchewan Huskie football supporters David Dubé and Heather Ryan have once again generously given to the program with the design and construction of new seating for Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park.
The expansion will add 1,174 new seats for fans on game nights. The new seating includes 880 premium stadium seats to expand 10 rows onto the top of sections 10, 11 and 12. The premium seats will add extra room for fans at 22” and 23” wide, have cup holders, as well as back and arm rests. Coloured in green and grey, the seats will also spell out Huskies. The seats will become the first stadium seats in a football park in Saskatchewan.
