Two Research Assistant Opportunities

Two research assistant positions are available for students enrolled in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Saskatchewan.

Funded by Global Water Futures program, the selected candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with the City of Saskatoon, MVA and the Northeast Swale Watchers citizen group to understand and protect the Northeast Swale. Past experience in the social sciences, natural sciences and literature reviews and synthesis are considered is desired.

Typical Duties:

Selected candidates will assist in writing and developing a synthesis report of a broad range of previously completed research and policy reports regarding the Northeast Swale. The report will highlight the knowledge produced in these past works, where gaps in knowledge are, and what the most pressing issues and recommendations are that emanate from past work. The selected candidates will work 12 hours per week and will begin as soon as selected.

Qualifications:

Research Assistant 1 (Natural Science-Based)

  • Must be enrolled in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Saskatchewan in an M.Sc. or Ph.D. program, a PDF, or possibly an exceptional 4th year undergraduate)
  • Excellent at literature review and synthesis
  • Excellent writer
  • Meets deadlines

Research Assistant 2 (Social Science-Based)

  • Must be enrolled in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Saskatchewan in an M.A. or Ph.D. program, a PDF, or possibly an exceptional 4th year undergraduate)
  • Excellent at literature review and synthesis
  • Excellent writer
  • Meets deadlines
