University of Saskatchewan graduate Michael Scissons (BA’06) is one of the world’s top ten young entrepreneurs.
Recently, Scissons represented Canada at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), after having been named Canada’s 2006 National Student Entrepreneur of the Year. Scissons, 22, placed third overall in the international entrepreneurial competition.
He received the award for his determination to complete his undergraduate degree at the U of S while operating a successful business, General Entertainment Corporation. In the last five years, General Entertainment Corporation has developed and executed some of Saskatchewan’s most successful and innovative youth-branded events and sponsorship programs. Their client list includes Budweiser, Bud Light, Kokanee, Mini, Saturn, University of Saskatchewan Student’s Union, and the City of Saskatoon.
